What fills up "Play history"?

Does anybody know what triggered this behavior? Every single movie in my main library is marked played on one of the players (tvOS), timestamp is in the same hour.
This renders “Play history” unusable, so I’d love to avoid doing whatever made it act like that.

I remember refreshing metadata on all 4 movie libs. Play history is normal on all libs other than the main one.

So I conclude is it the client’s fault? With several players used (iOS, iPadOS, Android and tvOS), only AppleTV is logged. Could some tvOS-app update do it?

That doesn’t sound like a client issue – at least none I’ve run into so far.
Have you maybe marked items as watched/played? This will also trigger an entry in the watch history IIRC.

Bingo! It seems to be the root cause, thank you. Completely forgot about it.
