What happened to Plex?

I have used Plex for quite some time but in the past year or so I haven’t used it much. What happened? This software was used easily to find your own server and locally and now it’s jumble my homepage with thing I don’t want. I can’t seem to figure out how to just give me the good ol Plex that just gave me my personal server content locally. I recently lost internet and my cell service was junk for a few days. I was just gonna Plex it for entertainment, but wow, was it not intuitive like it was before. I tried a to bounce around the options and a few things and this is just filled with what I think is junk. My request is to please give me a no bullcrap interface with just my server content. I bought it for this but maybe I’m asking too much? Has Plex just evolved out of what I bought it for?

What you want is what Plex no longer does. You might want to look at Emby to get back to simply viewing your media.

Awesome, thanks. I’ll give it look.

They’ve certainly added a lot of new features, and I don’t use them much either. I’m pretty much using Plex for just my own content with no difficulty. But I’ve found the UI changes to be very good improvements, for the most part - intuitive, and easily customizable. Admittedly, I’ve been in constant contact with the app, so maybe being out of it for some time, there might be some confusion.

I would recommend this guide:

Thank you, I couldn’t figure it out offline by just poking through options. I didn’t have internet to look it up but it was kind of frustrating at the time. I’ll look at the guide. I appreciate it.

Plex works pretty well for me when my internet is down, but there is some configuration that you need to do before your internet goes down. Here’s a good guide:
