There's nothing new in the code right? If I already have the latest version I could just add the lines for SSL and path for the Cert into the Settings.py without needing to download correct?
There is. You have to download the fork by the author of the solution while PlexConnect officially integrates the solution into their build.
Great news here (...when I'm getting up)
Could someone write a step-by-step guide somewhere (or in the Wiki page)
Thanx guys !

There you are! Of all the nights to sleep!
Ok so you're awake now, time to commit changes, new build up, fix the slow javascript and make it viable on windows :P
Or, on a serious note. Are you going to leave it forked as this is really only a work around but the only one I guess.
Check out post 100
Thanks :)
Fantastic work guys!
I just now need to figure out how to make it work with an OSX server (working around it at the moment by using another Mac to run the PlexConnect)
Nevermind fixed it
again awesome work!!
When on the server running PlexConnect I get the following error. I get the same when from my laptop (except it says the ip address instead). I dont get a cert popup as expected.
I had the same problem until I realized that I had a typo in the path to the certfile. Now all is working again. Thanks guys.
Your problem could be the URL it says https://localhost./ it should be https://localhost/
Big thanks to orthogonal!
I've updated my post on using the Wall Street Journal app (it's still possible!). My update: http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/74524-use-wall-street-journal-app-instead-of-trailers/
Thanks syphr, great ! Is it now possible with any ATV app too (Quello, Crunchyrol, Vevo, NBA ...) ?

It might be possible, though I haven't done any testing with any other apps. I'll probably wait on testing other apps using HTTPS until orthogonal's code is included in the main trunk and PlexConnect is faster again (PlexConnect is really slow currently with the certificate/code update). So when that happens, maybe I'll just create one big thread with instructions for the various apps (if possible).
So is this fix safe?
Seems Janky
Kudos to the developers of the workaround. When Apple releases the 5.4 GM in a few days/weeks, can they easily kill this again because they now know the new workaround?
I had a thought, I have apple dev account and was wondering if my were to be updated 5.4 Beta 4 would plex connect still work in it's original state.
If so, does the ATV still receive these updates in the beta state.
If it doesn't the ATV could in theory stay on this firmware.
Thoughts? Has anyone tried this yet, or is already on 5.4 Beta 4.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
PlexConnect works again
Great work guys. I'm hoping you'll find another solution to the certificate loading that doesn't require a mac..
Oh on this, is it possible to side load a certificate to a jailbroken ATV?
any way to inject that certificate into the ATV in another way?
guess generating as certificate will be same on linux or even windows with some tool....
but how are non MAC users going to inject that certificate into the ATV ?
One question about the fork please. Once I download the ZIP file, do I extract that into where my existing plexconnect files are located and overwrite them?
Cheers, Brett
