Where is the option to select Plex Local Data?

Server Version#: 1.20.1.3252
Player Version#: N/A

Topic pretty much explains it all. I keep my plexdata folder on a separate drive to help prevent loss of information and so I don’t have to completely reset the whole server whenever I need to reinstall windows. Flash forward to today and I had to reinstall windows to find out that the option to select the plexdata folder location is missing. Where did it go? Is there some other way to select the plexdata folder now? I am seriously frustrated as I have successfully done this in the past several times already only to be surprised today and see it isn’t there. I really don’t want to have to set everything up all over again. Please tell me there is a reason it is missing.

P.S. Yes, I am looking in advanced options.

It was removed a few months ago because it was part of a security vulnerability.

This is not what I want to hear at all! Is there a work around? I have a PlexData folder is there any way I can point my server to it now? I absolutely cannot have PlexData on my C:/ due to file size issues. This is very disappointing. Maybe I can find an older server version and install that. It was working fine before I reinstalled Windows is what frustrates me the most.

That post says that Windows users can still do something via the Windows registry. You’ll have to find out what that is.

Just edit the LocalAppDataPath registry setting manually which is all the setting did. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201105343-advanced-hidden-server-settings/

I just found the google guide and editing the register and I think I am back in business. I really wish I didn’t have to discover this change in a moment of already high stress (who likes reformatting their C:/ and reinstalling and setting everything up all over again am I right?)

I think that sums up everything major I needed to set up post reformat too. Thanks a lot for the help guys.
