I have my Plex server shared with a number of users and want to email a specific user. When looking on my Plex server for most of them I just see their Plex account name, not an email address? How can I find the correct email address?
So you don’t know your sharees? You do know that Plex is for sharing with close friends and family members, right?
Simply stop sharing with him. He’ll contact you.
For a “Plex Ninja (Moderator)”, that’s a pretty lame answer (no wonder many Plex users complain about support)…it is shared with about a dozen friends/family but I can’t keep track of who each user is, especially when their Plex username are nowhere near their email accounts.
For example, I don’t remember who “DarkBeerMan” is…
If you can’t provide an answer, why did you even need to reply?
You could make a special library just for him with a video or a photo which contains your message. Then stop sharing all libraries but this one.
Found a solution…too bad apparently even the Plex “Ninja” can’t help.
I am running Ombi and it does display the email addresses.
no it wasn’t a lame answer. your question is sketchy so the answer you got.
Nope, assuming one of your customers is sharing their server with people they don’t know is bad customer service. Right away he assumed I was doing something inappropriate rather than trying to help a paying customer.
It was a totally legitimate question, not a sketchy question…
first and foremost you shouldn’t be charging for others to user your plex server. second since you are you should have sense enough to have ALL their contact information. third not only is your question sketchy, but so is what you’re doing with your plex server.
What exactly is that theory based on?
You’re clearly making this up as you go along. Nowhere has it been mentioned that he is charging anyone.
I’ve never charged anyone for access to my server (not even accepting donations from friends, even though they’ve offered) so STFU.
Solution has been given by @OttoKerner, and due to that, as well as this thread is slowly turning into something, that goes against our guidelines for the forums, I’m closing it, before it get’s out of hands here
