Why are ratings forced on users? (Movies & TV)

In my music library I have the option to set the ratings source to “none”, but with Movies and TV shows this is not an option. Why is that?

Not a fan at all of ratings of my personal media collection. What’s the reasoning behind not allowing the ratings source to be set to “none” for movies and TV? Would appreciate it if devs could explain a bit why this is possible for music but not TV and Movies. And some update on when this option can be included server side to get rid of the ratings sources for movies and tv shows.

Huge oversight when it comes to library management and metadata customization in my opinion.

There’s a related feature suggestion … while it’s gained some votes, it doesn’t seem to be all that important / high in demand with users.

Not saying we shouldn’t have such an option… just providing some context.

Appreciate the info, I remember voting for that a while back.

Any particular reason this feature is available to music but not Movies and TV? Seems it would require very little effort to enable this for Movies and TV since it’s already implemented for music libraries?

And it seems popularity is no guarantee for a feature getting added (audiobooks and books/comics support is the most highly requested of any feature request for a long time now, but the devs said it’s not on the roadmap).
