I have seen this brought up before over the years since I started using Plex some 5 or 6 years ago. And I still have not seen it implemented even though it sounded like people have been asking for it for many years.
I am thinking that the best way to have sharable playlists is to have a special admin playlist that could be usable, but not editable, by all users. Then each user would also still have the personal playlist, but the single shared playlist is useful for when you have a reason for it, like all of the James Bond movies in order, or the X-Men and Avenger movies in their chronological order (which differs from the order that they were made).
I am thinking that it would be effectively shortened for users that are not allowed to see certain ratings, as per their user settings. Sometimes a series jumps around in rating. For example, the Alien and Predator movies are rated R, but Alien vs Predator was not.
It would be still nice to be able to share with all users by default, however, and not have to share it individually. Also, if sharing above does not also share updates as I make them, such as a adding a new X-Men movie to its playlist, that would be great, too, and point back to an admin “all can view” list
As you already pointed out you’re “yet another person wishing for that”.
