I’ve noticed that the screensaver for most client apps (all that I’ve tried) is either missing or consists of a blinking plex logo. Why not give us the ability to use our photo library as the screen saver? Only settings needed would be random or sequential order. Since slideshows of our photos are already implemented, I don’t think it would be too difficult to implement. This feature was in previous versions of PHT. Would be so much better than what we have now.

Agreed. I noticed that Plex Home Theater has been replaced with Plex Media Player and it has no options for screensaver. Would really like the photo screen saver back without having to go to the open source version.

OpenPHT was doing the job, latest Plex server update broke that though, so OpenPHT thinks fanart is personal. sucks, was the main reason for wife approval. I can’t say broken everywhere, but in multiple-server situations two of mine on Linux and QNAP are showing fanart where they showed photos. Primary/Freebsd server seems not confused.
The new player (Plex Media Player 2.1.1), tested becasue of breakage in OpenPHT photo screensaver, is aweomse looking…I WANT to make it work. But man, house rigged with screens everywhere on plex is hard to not have pix.
I really hope there’s a way we can contribute to Plex Media Player on specific bounties/goals, especially photo screensaver…Even with warnings.
+1 would love this instead of the PLEX logo.
