Fanart As Screensaver

Hi all,

I’ve been running PMS on Ubuntu for a few years now, and there’s always been one thing i’ve wished i could do. I know it’s not built into Plex at present (or if it is, i cannot figure out how to do it), but most of the set-top devices (AppleTV, FireTV, Roku, etc) have a slideshow type screensaver option. I was wondering if it would be possible to point that screensaver settings at the fanart metadata to use the fanart of my collection as my screensaver. I realize most of the image data is stored in bundles, so i understand that this might not be an ideal solution.

Alternatively, is there a way to rsync the image data to duplicate it from the bundles and into another location so that i could keep that data separately for use outside of plex (and subsequently achieving the same goal.)

Thank you!

The default skin of OpenPHT/Rasplex does this.
Maybe you can reverse-engineer this, since it’s Open Source and all.

This would be a cool feature, but as of yet Plex does not offer this. You either get the Plex logo or the content’s artwork you have paused.
