I may be asking a dumb question, but I just updated to 1.7.2.3878 and everything is working fine for my admin user, but I don’t see anything for managed users. Is that just not available yet?
I’m wondering the same thing. Live TV works great on my iOS device when I’m logged in as my admin user. But it doesn’t show up for managed users. This is an awesome addition! Thanks Plex team!
Looking for the same thing. I don’t use my main account for anything. I manage each family member as their own account. I’d like them to be able to watch TV from their account.

There are some limitations when watching live TV currently:
Live TV viewing cannot currently be shared. Only the Plex Media Server owner account can currently watch live TV.
Live TV requires the ability to transcode the content, so you need to ensure you run Plex Media Server on a device capable of transcoding. (Some NAS devices may not be able to transcode.)
You cannot pause or time-shift (e.g. rewind) the stream. We’re working to support this functionality soon.
Flinging or casting playback to another Plex app is not currently supported.
You cannot initiate a recording of what you’re currently watching in the client. If you wish to start recording, you’ll need to stop live playback and then start recording.
So if you are running the Plex Client on a Windows PC, or an Android mobile device, not Android TV, then Live TV is not available?? I’ve tried from within a Windows PC on a web browser and while I get the DVR functions under my Admin login, no Live TV options show up for ON RIGHT NOW programs within the Program Guide and the Android version of Plex Client doesn’t even give options for DVR, Program Guide at all for the Admin login user. Is this a feature that is coming down the line for Android users of the Plex Client along with Windows PC users? Also, is this new Live TV option compatible with the HDHomeRun Prime cablecard tuner box?
Correct, only iOS and Android TV for Live TV today.
Only the main admin account.
HDHomeRun Prime is supported.
We are actively working on more support on other clients and sharing.

I can’t wait to share Plex properly with my family once sharing and Plex Home are supported with DVR and Live TV!! Plex will finally be the one-stop-shop solution for me. No 3rd party addons, no need for any other program… waves goodbye to WMC forever… it will be bliss. (I know the timeline is “when it’s done.” I’'m still ecstatic though.)

Yes, another thank you for Live TV. Just tried it with my windows server and iOS device and it works great.

I can only watch sd ota channels and they stutter. Perhaps better pre buffering? Hd don’t work at all!
DVR/LiveTV for managed users is a VITAL addition that needs to be added.
I ONLY use my admin account for managing/sorting libraries, which I then share with my “media” managed user (which company that visits browse through).
I CAN NOT have to log into my main admin user (which shows all my unsorted content, including personal camera uploads and everything I archive, that company don’t necessarily need to see).
