Not sure if this has been asked or not but I couldnt locate it.
It would be nice to be able to use Live TV on accounts that arent the main user. For example I have my 5 year olds account, but he cant use Live TV. I have to login to my profile which has access to everything and we don’t want that.
Correct that is one of the limitations currently listed on the [“Watching Live-TV”](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/115007689648-Watching-Live-TV ““Watching Live-TV””) guides:
Live TV viewing cannot currently be shared. Only the Plex Media Server owner account can currently watch live TV
Edited - you could install the HDHR Viewer 2 Plugin and provide your child with a set list of LiveTV channels which he could access via his account that is if you use the HDHR…
I too am interested in live tv being accessible by managed users. I know the HDHR app works but my wife likes to watch the news on her phone at work (outside the local network - which only plex can do!!).

I as well am asking for Live TV support to Managed Users. Preferably with parental controls for time frame and duration. Allowing my kids to have access to the Server account means they have access to all the content I don’t want them to see. And that is not acceptable. So currently they don’t have live tv.
Followed by my older son who does not want to record sports events and watch them later after he has had them ruined by all his buddies on social media cheering and giving highlights.
At least give live tv for when the device is on the local network. I can get we don’t want live tv streamed across cellular. But at least when connected to local net.

Sorry I thought you meant the store app not the plugin. It would still be nice to have the inbuilt functionality though.
I would also like to see Live TV for managed users, especially cause we have our main User as a managed user filtering out all the childrens content.
I to would love to be able to have access to live TV from an managed user as well.
I have my main account locked for obvious reasons. I would like a managed user to have access to the live TV. I have all my family on there managed with camera uploads and I don’t want all their photos accessible to everyone on the Admin account just to watch live TV.
Like everyone else, would love to allow my kids to watch TV with their own accounts.
Please release Live TV for managed users

Hello. New to the forum. Managed user access to Live TV is a must have. I just upgraded to plex pass for this feature and the first thing I found out is it doesn’t work for managed users. Sad to see this as I was using NPVR plugin to accomplish this and all users could access that. I’m sure Plex will address the feature gap.
Fix this, there is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to have control over it like other libraries.
Currently, I’m looking to migrate from a complex/buggy MythTV (Live TV/DVR) + Kodi based Media center solution and am trying out Plex Pass as a "easier to use and (hopefully) more stable alternative. Overall I’m impressed with the platform, but I loathe having to manage “another solution” to maintain needed functionality on LiveTV/DVR.
The lack of “managed users” having access to the DVR is a deal killer for me, and will likely cause me to unsubscribe from Plex pass if not enabled in the foreseeable future.

I have been a Plex Pass user since 2013 and I love all that I get with it. I just found out yesterday after purchasing an HDHR tuner and setting this up for the 1st time that this is a limitation, Y on earth can’t any other user have access to the Live TV? Like others here, I have a family of five and that includes two young children ages 3 and 6. Having access to the owner account (mine) is NOT an option. The kids should be able to access DVR and Live TV on there own accounts with perential controls enforced. After all is this not one of the reasons to purchase Plex Pass? I sure do hope we all hear from the Plex staff themselves on this matter with some kind of update as to when we will see this or I am moving on as well.
I am a bit more upset then normal because this limitation should be front and center when looking at the feature but no place did I see this or even hear about it from all the reviewers of this new feature.
Plex staff please chime in here and update your users on this…

This is a huge oversight, in my opinion. I keep a single user with a passcode, to manage all the other users, including the “family” account. Ideally, I should be able to give libraries and devices access to any user (managed or just a member of the home).
I’d think that treating the Tuners like a library would not be that difficult, and letting you control which users have access to them would be ideal as a first step. Second step would be to integrate with the ratings or channels so that certain users may not be able to access content over a certain published level, or limiting users to specific channels (and times wouldn’t be a bad option either, but less priority in my mind that the first two).
Lacking basic multi-user capabilities severely limits the usefulness, and should be something that the devs and product managers should place a solid emphasis on, making it a priority in the feature backlog.

I personally don’t want to use this because I’d be scared my DVR would run out of available tuners, but it certainly should be an option.
