Streamline On Deck for season addition

Hi,

I recently uploaded an entire season of a show and noticed that On Deck in the web interface shows the poster with the number of unwatched episodes in overlay. The PHT interface of On Deck shows an individual poster for each unwatched episode. It 'pushes out' any other stuff I've added along with the season. I would very much like the PHT interface to mirror the (much neater) way it's done in the web interface.

I have searched (with 'on deck') to see if this has been raised before but couldn't find it. Maybe provide an option for this behavior somewhere down the line?

+1

Agreed. It's certainly not the most pressing feature request, but it's very annoying.

Added another two year show recently and now have to push past 20+ identical posters to get to my other stuff. Hope this can get fixed someday - it's indeed annoying.

The preview app for Roku (and possibly others) have a similar problem / feature / annoyance.  It's been mentioned it's server controlled, not necessarily app controlled.

If this were actually server controlled and not something on the client, then the clients themselves should display just as the Web App does.  They don't.  The Web App must take the series information for each of the newly added episodes and combine them somehow to give a single poster for everything in the season.  (Or multiple seasons.)

I would much rather have a single poster for the entire TV show.  As more get added to the show (more seasons/episodes) the number increases just as it does when looking at the show within the Web App inside the library.  I don't need to see that season 3 has a new show, but that the series has a new one, I click the poster and it takes me to the library/TV show and shows me what is there.  In PHT, Android and Roku, clicking these takes you to the specific episode, even if you aren't "caught up" to that episode in your watched status.

Consolidate the posters to the TV show itself, update the not watched orange icon and take us to the entire show.  Simple, straight forward, and shouldn't be difficult to do.  Link to the show in the library, not the episode.  If we want to watch the latest and by-pass any missed episodes, that's user preference and not mandated by the application.

LOL - I agree - the client has to sort the info somehow for it to display the way it does.  I'm only going by a response made to a similar complaint I made (Roku specific, mind you)  One of the developers replied it was mostly server generated.

In any event, I don't like the way it's done, whatever it is that controls it.

Don't want to create a new thread for this, because the current thread is kinda about the functional differences between web and the player - but I noticed that on the web side you can choose to remove a movie from On Deck ("Mark as watched") but in the player you cannot (only "Mark as unwatched"). I sometimes start with a movie and get bored/never return or show a friend why he should watch something... but until I jump into the web view it'll be On Deck forever.

As with the poster problem it's a minor thing but still... :)

Just came across the post about votes only being counted when folks press ‘Like’. If you want to get attention from devs to the problems mentioned in this thread, do click Like.

On a side note: hooray for the new forum!

Having just added another multiseason series, I’m giving this a small bump since the PHT interface handles it so much worse than the web interface.
