Does not seem to function?
Anyone tried to set an IP address for a local public IP when behind a VPN?
It was expected that the public IP would be referenced to the custom server access url as per the previous post but this was not the case. Plex dynamically takes the visible public IP, where a true IP is masked.
Example:

You need either to make your vpn gateway your default gateway on the plex host or make it the default gateway in your router, to make it actual transfer the whole data thru the vpn connection.
The Customer Server access URLs are a hint for plex.tv and become provisioned by your PMS to plex.tv when you sign in your PMS instance with your account. You are aware that they need to be added manualy?
If your VPN-Endpoint is static enter it as CSA URL http://{vpn-ip}:32400, if not static register a dyndns alias for your vpn-ip and enter it to as CSA URL instead. You should add both http:// and https://
I cannot use the VPN IP… most VPN services corporate and private will not accommodate this hence the need to specify a valid IP and not the dynamically chosen IP that plex sees.
well than use your wan-ip…
If your ip ix fixed, use it drectly
If dynamic, register a dyndns account and update the entry when you wan-ip gets changed… most routers have a dyndns client build in …
CSA URL does NOT work as expected or as people on this forum are describing…
This thread also has similar concerns over CSA without a clear answer…

Can anyone confirm CSA is functioning correctly???
So here are the CSA setting to show config

see: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200430283-Network for the correct synatx.
Ure are using the url to plex.web, not to your pms - two different “services” running on the same host…
This is my network trace when i access my server with remote plex.web from plex.tv.
After a certain point the plex.web queries all information using my dyndns name, which it ONLY knowns because plex.tv provides the information…
I don’t know why it’s is not working for you or others.. Though, adding /web at the end is definitly not correct…
removed the /web
still does not function as expected
I still believe that if the system allowed a manual input of the IP (see image below) that this would solve the issue.
I am also not clear on the function of the CSA url in the network page. Why is this is on a separate page in the advanced functions AND why (if used) does this not show up as an over-ride to the IP that the plex system derives and then shows as failed to connect… (see image below)

How can this be pointed towards PLEX technical support for assistance?
Definitely manual IP entry is a must have feature for a server application.
