Apps logon with Main Plex User

Hello together,

when my kid is installing the Plex App on his iPhone and login to it, he is automatically logged in as my main account and not with his managed account. So he is able to see all movies, including 18+ movies.

Please fix this. so that on the first login you have to choose to login to a user like on Windows.

Sounds like something isn’t setup correctly on the client side.

BTW, are you using a PIN on your “admin” account? If not add this.

Hello,

Yes, I’m using a PIN on my account. This is reoccuring problem btw.
Tried to test this with my own device and when I enter the login infos, the app automatically logs in to my main account and not to the managed account.

In tutorial therms:
Bart is asking for Login info for the PLEX account.
Homer handle it over
Bart is logging in and should see a prompt which user he wants to use
But in reality he is automatically looged in as Homer without the need to enter the PIN

The setup is exactly the same as in your tutorial:
Homer is owner with Plex Pass
Bart is a manages user and does not need a own account.

I am having this same issue. When i give my login info to a family member or friend the first login they are routed to the admin profile without needing a pin. Do anyone know of a solution or should i create another plex account and invite it to my current one and give the new account username and password.

Any news? Any device that DOESN’T have the right cookie (that is any new device, any browser without cookies, any incognito browser session if you need to quickly test) gets logged in directly into the admin account, without entering the PIN (of course, you have the PIN set). I can’t imagine this is by design.

any updates? having the same problem on evey app tested with android iphone web and kodi plex

Your username/password is the login. No need for a PIN at the initial sign-in.

For all who are having this issue.

Be sure the “Automatically Sign In” is unchecked. This should be on every client.

I also like to add that it’s not a good idea to give out your login credentials to anyone.
@ociriej77, creating a new account for your family/friend is the BEST option here. You never want give out your own information especially if they are going to have it on devices that leave your house.
