Select User Options?

Whats the point of having pins to login to a users account when lets say I log out of plex and when I log back in, it takes me straight to the main plex user account without asking me for a pin???

The whole reason you create others users is to block some stuff you don’t want them to see, my family members use plex, all one account and we all have one usersname and password so when they log in, it takes them straight to the main account that is locked with a pin but it does not ask for a pin :frowning:

What client are you using? All the clients I use have a setting to “Automatically Sign in” the most recent user - which bypasses the PIN.

The idea of a Pin only works if you don’t turn on automatic log ins. I turn the automatic log in on the devices I use commonly, and don’t have anyone else using. for those devices someone else could use it’s not turned on.

Look in Settings -> Web Automatically Sign In and make sure the check mark is turned off on the Web App. Other apps that support Fast User Switching have similar settings, but you may have to look for it.

Thaxs for the replies, No, I know that “Auto Login” I switched it off for all but lets say I am at a friends house and I install plex on his TV and as soon as I login, it brings me to the main users profile without even asking me to put a pin to login to a specific one :frowning:

I believe the 1st time you initiate plex on a smart tv, after you enter the link code, it goes straight to main user profile. But all you have to do is make sure autologin is disabled on the tv app and then select switch user.

Yes, there is the glitch! They should make it to go straight to choose a user to use and put in the pin number for that user

HOPE THEY FIX THAT OR LET US CHOOSE TO ACTIVATE THAT OPTION…

Early 2021 clean-up: implemented (as designed; managed users need the admin to sign in on a device first, they then can change to their own managed account – changing back to another users requires that user’s pin; admin users should not hand out their own credentials for managed users to sign-in by themselves)
