I would like to request that the 4 digit link code, which is used for devices that are normally attached to TV’s to link to your Plex account, also be used for cell phones and all other devices that currently do not support the 4 digit link code. Here is my OP with the problem I am facing and I am sure others have too and would be easily fixed if all devices had the option to link a Plex account using the 4 digit link code.
From what I have tested, devices that connect to TV’s like Amazon Fire Sticks, Amazon Fire TV Boxes as well as smart TV’s and other devices that fit this description [“Some Plex apps—usually those designed for use on your television—will let you link the app with your Plex account using a one-time code. You’ll see a 4-character alphanumeric code in the app.””) support the 4 digit link code. But why not an Android phone? Why not an Iphone? Why not a web browser? Why don’t these devices support the 4 digit link code? I cannot seem to get a definitive answer to this question. But I cannot see a reason why this would be a problem if all devices supported the 4 digit link code especially for my problem that I am facing here forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1489200#Comment_1489200
At any rate I would like to request that all devices support the 4 digit link code especially cell phones. And I would appreciate any feedback on this request.
