Have a reoccurring issue I’d like to know how to resolve. I’ve downloaded the app on 2 devices, 1 an android phone and the other an Apple tablet, neither will give me the 4 digit link code, only has an option to sign in or sign up (unlike others which have given me a 4 digit code). How do I force a code? I don’t want my kids signed in a me (Plex pass owner) via email…
I’m not sure I’m following your question/statement?
While your thread title implies this is about linking the app to your account… the message itself reads like some struggle with the home user’s pins?!
If you want to apply some parental controls on what your kids get to see, Plex Home and managed users are the way to go. For that, you’ll need to sign them into their devices and then switch to their pin-protected(?) managed account. Given your main account has a PIN as well, they cannot simply switch users.
Which brings me back to my original question: Could you please clarify your question? 
Linking the app, sorry for the confusion. On all but 2 devices, on the first start of the app it gives me a code to input here (Link | Plex). These 2 however, didn’t. I’ve tried removing/reinstalling a couple of times, even rebooting the devices with no luck.
If it helps… the phone is an LG K40 and the I pad is a 7th gen.
You usually only get that option on the big screen apps (tv, htpc). It’s mostly because logging in with your regular credentials can be quite tricky on those devices.
On a mobile/tablet you should be able to sign-in regularly (e.g. by entering your account/password or the 2fa of your choice if enabled)
Thank you for that info, I guess the other cell phones were just an exception to this, but I defiantly prefer it. Any chance this way of linking a device could be implemented in future updates, in addition to the window you pictured above? Asking because the 4 digit passcode is easier on my end with the ever changing kids devices…
One last question if I might, if it’s better suited for another area or been answered, just let me know and I’ll ask there/check it out. I was using Plex on a Raspberry Pi (Rasplex), Is there a way to update it to get the plex movies and podcasts?
