Plex should integrate with Android TV “Live Channels” app as a source for both Live TV, movie playlists, genres, and favorites. This is currently supported by Android TV for Live TV sources (HD-Homerun app) and non-live TV sources (Google Play movies).

I have personally started to work on the Android TIF (TV Input Framework) for plex to see how far I could get (porting functions from cumulus and tvheadend live channels plugins) and this should not be too difficult with the right token requests to the tv.plex.providers.epg.onconnect-*.db on the PMS server. At any rate if Plex does not implement this plugin I will dedicate some time to get this completed soon for everyone with Android TV’s

Ive started a development thread in the 3rdparty development area of the Plex forums. Making minimal progress at this point. Going to take some time for a final add-on… Like I said if we could get more heads involved be much faster. I’ll try and recruit some devs on my own…
Just an update I am getting very close to having a Plex Live Channels plugin that will allow users to schedule recordings and watch live TV through the live channels app. I will post some screen shots later today.

Would love to have this feature as well. Currently using a paid service, TVirl as a work-around… There are plenty of devices that would benefit from this… Sony Bravia, Philips, Google/Android TV, Firesticks, etc etc
