***Restart Plex Server From MyPlex*** [Feature Request]
Edit: For us to get this plz Up-Vote. Like This Post. You can also use the poll but plz Up-Vote this post Thanks.Up-Vote ( + - ) Like Is Over There >>>>>
Most of the time i want to restart plex it is because it no longer is working remotely, thus I don’t think having myPlex attempt a remote action would be that helpful.
Sometime steaming wont work right and a good restart helps get everything back up and running again but its hard to do so when your away from home.
Keep on voteing people

I absolutely love this idea! If I need to restart my server because it’s not working and I’m not home, this feature would be absolutely amazing. Please support this Plex… 32 votes so far not so bad
I’d recommend taking a look at the rules for this forum for info on how to correctly vote to show support for a feature request. A poll is not a good way to accomplish this.
what's wrong with using a poll? at least it shows which way the voting is split, the up/down vote only shows us the net effect which isn't really a measure of popularity...
well, if it is "different" to everything else, someone has to interpret something - the topic forum rules are there to keep a level playing field and rule out any "but, but, but.....i thought blah blah"
Also, the automatic popular flag will never set using a poll, so unless someone is manually watching this thread it'll never be "up there" with the other popular threads assuming it makes it that far. (i.e., it'll be lost in the noise no matter how popular a request it is)
Then why even let us use the poll system?
you can run the poll system on any post - there is no way to block it.
In general though, you should always view the sticky posts at the top of any forum, especially when they are titled "Rules for this Forum"
Not many do. Anyways i edit the first post.
first - who the hell are you quoting there? i never said either of the things you put in quotes, and I don't appreciate you putting words in my mouth.
second - with the info on how the [popular] tag works, using the voting buttons makes more sense. just stating thems the rules and you must follow them is nonsense.

Stay on topic plz and UP-VOTE
I like the concept, but now adays there are numerous ways to connect to a remote computer on almost any device (Logmein, Splashtop, and all the other VNC and RDP software). Its not always Plex that is acting up ;). i personally would much rather log in to the server itself and see if the server computer itself needs to be reset or if Plex Media Server actually had quit enexpectadly.
In my opinion, I find that connecting to a remote computer is often times not great. I use Splashtop, and overall it's fine, but I have run into problems on several occasions with the application freezing on my computer, and thus making my computer unreachable from any remote client. If this functionality were built into myPlex, that means all we'd have to do is launch our web browser, and not rely on another application on your computer running or not. Everything would be done through the media server. And, if the media server froze, it could still be restarted by using this feature using myPlex. Seems like a no-brainer, no?
i agree. Dont forget to **Up-Vote** people the poll don't mean anything.
Couldn’t someone just write a channel application to do this? It could determine if the system is Windows, Mac, Linux, etc and then through the menu interface, give you options like to reboot, shut down, restart the PMS application, etc.
Kind of like the Library Updater application
