Sync between PMS and migrate among servers

Hi there,

I'm not sure how many people share the same thoughts, but I have two feature request to discuss

1. Sync media status between PMS

People are having more than 1 PMS running at home, so could we sync the playback state among the servers?

2. Migrate metadata from one PMS to another

Similarly, I now running PMS and have much media data stored in one PMS, but I'm gonna to buy a new PC to replace current PMS, how could I copy all media data along with the correct path/state info to the new PMS? One thing PMS I love most is the various movie and TV show metadata and pictures, so I don't want to redownload all metadata and pictures from beginning again.

It would be really great to have such a sync feature; that would allow us the pick most powerful PMS for transcoding.

+1 for migrating, not just to another installation of same OS (since this can easily be done) but to different OS.

Does the Trakt.tv plugin sync in both directions? If so, did anybody try this? Could be a temp solution.

FYI: if you use Trakt, the watched/unwatched episodes/movies are synced between servers.

I only recently started using this but it seems to work. I guess one needs to play with the options (sync intervall, etc.) but so far it seems to work.
