I heartily agree! Trakt support on the player would be excellent! Syncing of collections between trakt and Plex would be amazing!

Does the web client not work with the trakt plugin?
Yes, this would definately be great for all the clients. To just use Plex to find recommendations on great movies and tv shows would be awesome!

There is an active Trakt plug-in in development which both syncs and scrobbles from various clients. It does scrobble from the web player - and I believe works with all clients except DLNA currently. You can download it here.

But I believe the way tester22 has to implement the plugin is to parse the log. Maybe rather than taking away his functionality, an API for the currently playing media item and it’s location within the file could be added. This would make it easier for him to figure out what is playing.
Yeah I would say that makes more sense and then when the next great thing comes along a new plugin just need to be created.

The plugin works pretty well but would love to see trakt deeply integrated into plex

As well as scrobbling would it be possible to send rating to trakt as well? (or at least a link to the trakt page for the movie/show?)
Bumping this as now that we have multi-user support and the ability to see what people are streaming, hopefully we can get proper scrobbling and not scraping of the logs :D

+1, the plugin from tester22 doesn't work on plex only releases.
