you guys really should vote correctly for it if you really do want it.
You’ll see I added it to the vote on plugins thread

I have a suggestion;
Since Plex is moving to a 'each user get's their own myPlex account' approach, what would it be like if myPlex acted as the scrobbling hub?
Example: Login to trakt.tv, click "authorize myPlex account", my.plexapp.com confirms, and then trakt and myplex talk directly to each other.
This could be extended through a limited API so that any scrobbling service would be supported.
And, just to talk about the juicy dev side of this; it would mean letting go of having to think about support in all the different clients...
I like the idea to use myPlex. it would also automatically include multi user support.
but this is something, the plex devs would need to add. there is no way, we could do this in a plugin ourselves.
i'm currently in the process of changing the trakt plugin to use the new "now playing" feature. but the multi-user problem is giving me some headaches.
Completely agree! It would great to see some sort of API that allowed music listening or video watching events to be updated.
For instance, if I watch something in Netflix or Amazon Instant it still gets scrobbled to Trakt without each having to implement it themselves (similarly with music to last.fm, etc.).

The API already exists, it is how Now Playing or PlexWatch work. It is also being used by the existing server side trakt plugin.
While I know this feature has been discussed and requested numerous times here, here and here; this is request to fully integrate trakt into Plex and incorporate many of the things talked about on these various threads into one request.
Upcoming Episodes Calendar Feature/Full Trakt Integration
Here is a list of some of the things that would be included in this full integration of trakt into Plex feature:
- Create a trakt account or sign into trakt account from within Plex Web App (with multi-user support) and/or deep integration with myPlex (similar to how Cloud Sync and those external services authorize and work)
- Sync/Scrobble content with trakt (including collections of movies and tv shows)
- Notification icon with drop-down list/calendar showing upcoming episodes airing/broadcasting in top right navbar of Plex Web (this could include links to the content if it already exists in Plex and links to TheTVDb and trakt episode listing page; many possibilities here)
- Dedicated calendar page showing upcoming episodes based on your content from trakt similar to the Announcements page (this could additionally be added to all clients).
- Settings for how trakt works and displays notifications and other trakt content in the Settings section.
- Future non-paramount implementation: Deep integration between myPlex recommendations and trakt recommendations for movies and tv shows.
Main Plex Web App 2.0 page with icon and notification of how many upcoming shows there are in the upper right corner. Note: This icon is already in the backend library for Plex from their purchased icon pack.
My Shows Airing page. Note: This is just a straight copy from trakt site; I didn’t want to spend the time to writing out the code to make it coincide with the Plex theme. Remember this is just an example and a request for the feature.
Example of how Plex might connect with trakt in the Plex Web App/Settings.
Example of how one might change the settings for the upcoming episodes notification.
For the other Plex clients, besides Plex Web, the implementation of a calendar/upcoming episodes should be just as easy as other have already done this with iOS, Android, XBMC and Windows/Windows Phone.
If you feel that another feature should be included, please post it and I will add it to this original post for others to easily see.
If you really like the idea of this being baked into Plex and feel that this should be a high priority for the Plex Developers, please click on the

Note: If one knows their Java and HTML5, they could easily make virtually all of this happen for Plex Web through an extension for Safari, Firefox and Chrome.

Can the existing trakt plugin be adapted or integrated for this. That plugin works excellent, except when you try to sync trakt to the plex db for watched status (it never fully completes) and it stops scrobbling randomly.

I'm sure it could be integrated on a browser extension side. But I think if it were to be baked in, starting from the ground up would be the best course of action for the developers.
Love the idea and great examples!

Thanks! I figured that having examples might make people more excited about the idea.
Why was my thread merged!? The point of my thread was to have what other individual threads don't have on the OP.
My post with images and such is now buried!
Furthermore, the other threads, like this one that it's now join with weren't exactly the same. They simply said: "trait support on all the things" (with the word even being spelled wrong) and:
Trakt support on at least the player and the iOS and Android apps.
Pretty vague to me and not the same/holistic as mine.

+1 on this for sue
There is a replacement plugin being maintained by Trakt but full integration would also be good :)
