No 1.29.2 will have new transcoder.
1.29.1 is the public release. It does not have the preview transcoder.
1.29.2 is the preview release. It has the preview transcoder.
The last four digits are basically a timestamp, denoting when the build happened. It has nothing to do with what is in the build.
This came up a few weeks ago. There’s a long thread on it somewhere.

What I’m trying to figure out what all is changed in the new transcoder? Just AV1 support?
I see the user transcoding 30 some odd 4K videos on an M1 Mac - I’d love to know what CPU is in that thing, I’m running dual Xeons and haven’t tried transcoding 4K really. Or will the new transcoder make transcoding 4K a lighter task?
I’m SO down with not needing a 4K and 1080p copy of things lol.
The preview thread is the place to look / ask.
Apple and tech sites should have the info on the M1 CPU.
