I am running two Plex, media service, both on Mac Minis. One is located at my guest home and is set up for remote access. The second server is located in another location. I am there now and remote access is currently turned off. Both servers are claimed on my account. I am unable to switch between the two servers in both the web app iOS app, and tvOS app. Thank you
Plex should no longer have a concept of “switching servers” – if your servers are signed into the same account, their libraries should simply show up in the sidebar navigation. If you’ve never pinned any libraries of the 2nd server to the sidebar, you’ll need to click the More button in the sidebar menu – there you’ll find all libraries grouped by servers (as well as various Plex online media sources to pick from).
I wish it was this easy photo attached only list one server, the remote one. This is using the pin feature on the iOS client. I’ll have to test to see if there even is one on TV0s.
Can you double-check the local server is actually signed into your account?
If you e.g. reset your account password and opted to sign-out from devices, this will also include your servers – just mentioning one example how a server might end up unclaimed / no longer showing under your account…
Is that the same account you’re using on the client?
Edit: what comes to mind… did you create the 2nd server using the move install to a new location guide? That’s not creating a copy but a clone of your server, where both ends share the same machine identifiers. As such, Plex will identify them as the same and only show one if both are online (no matter if they’re no longer the same)
Yes same account. I have tried with an account I created and still only see one source. I do not think I used any move or clone function. I just built the server from scratch. Is this something log files can tell us? At this point though it’s not ideal am not opposed to deleting the missing media server and building again from scratch on mini. Thanks
