2022 Plex stopped working on QNAP- Error="Digital Signature Expired" - Please Help

I’ve had my QNAP TS-231P for years and have enjoyed using the Plex server software.

Unfortunately it stopped working and now displays an error message “digital signature expired”.

I’ve tried to work with QNAP, and they first asked me to download the .qpkg to re-install Plex… Didn’t fix the problem.

QNAP support then claimed that ports 32400 and 443 were not open on my firewall, which seems odd because I haven’t changed anything prior to Plex ceasing to function.

I’m really frustrated with this as it was working and now does not work. Plex just billed me for my subscription.

I’m almost to the point of tossing my QNAP and Plex in the garbage.

Please Help!

Thanks,

Chuck

Chuck,

Engineering has an interim certificate in place now (if you were to upgrade PMS)

As an alternative,

  • Go into App Center settings.
  • You can allow unsigned apps.

Engineering has been working with QNAP to have the new certificate in place before Nov 30.

And adding to @ChuckPa here.

You are installing from QNAP AppStore, AFAICT, and that’s sadly behind current version

Go here for the latest version:

A big thanks @ChuckPa and @dane22.
