Could someone explain which video formats are compatible with Plex? I downloaded a few videos from YouTube and only one was properly viewable, despite trying all the available settings. Thanks!
There is no explicit support for 360° video in Plex. If it works on some devices, then that is a “lucky accident” and can break down at any time.
I also don’t know of any immediate plans to change that. It is such a “niche” use case.
Bit confused by all of this. It says “ Video Support - Play local media on your Android device (including 3D and 360/180 videos).” On Plexs site. That seems to imply support?
That applies only to the use of the plex app on the Android mobile and Apple mobile platforms. This feature is only there, so ppl can play their own video files, which need to be stored on the mobile device.
However, all other plex clients and the Plex server don’t have support.
