Hi,
I have just tried coming back to Plex after a year or so but I am having quite a lot of issues with playback.
My server is running on Nuc i5 10th gen with 16 GB RAM and SSD m.2 NVME drive where I store 4K HDR videos recorded with iPhone 13 Pro Max. It runs on Ubuntu Server 20.04.
When I play a video on my MacBook Pro through a browser, everything works perfectly fine and I can see about 10% of CPU usage on my server. When I play using MacOS client, it is literally unplayable. I can see almost permanent buffering, then it plays a few frames and buffers again. NUC CPU has like 1% of usage then. The Mac client seems to malfunction.
I also tried playback on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. When doing it through a web browser, again, everything works great. When I switch to the iOS client, the video playback is smooth but colours are greatly distorted. The video is very bright and vivid. It can be fixed by changing quality to 4K or any other. But when I play original quality, colours are awful. Looks like an issue with HDR. I have enabled colours mapping in Server Settings.
Please advise how I can fix these issues. Using a web browser is inconvenient compared to the dedicated clients but these don’t seem to work properly for me. All my devices are fully updated - both OS and Plex.
Thanks,
Adam
