Hello.
I am having problems with 4K HDR videos sometimes buffering on direct play without transcoding, TV supports MKV files. I have local 1GB bandwith. Avarage bit rate of video is 43 Mb/s. What could be the problem?
Server Version#: 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#: Samsung smart tv app version 2.012 PMS version 1.19.4.2935-79e214ead
The old Samsung app was never made for 4K models. So very likely it is your server transcoding and not being able to keep up.
Even if your files are using the AVC/H.264 video codec, the old Samsungs had a bandwidth limit of about 35 mbps. So if playback is indeed ‘direct’ and no transcoding is happening, it could be your tv being overwhelmed by the bitrate.
ohh that may be it cuz i can whatch perfectly fine a 4K HDR video with 23 Mb/s bitrate
thx for the help. Where did u find the specs? i have a model from 2015 UE55JU7005.
It means that Plex Server has reserved 40 mbps of the total upload capacity for this user.
All additional streams must do with whatever is left.
