4k uhd and Plex on Nvidia shield

Hey guys,
Sorry if this has been asked before. Believe you me I have spent sometime reading up on this already but I could not find straight answer.

I’m going to try to be quick about this.

  1. I have 8 terabyte hard drive connected to USB Nvidia shield and it’s running Plex server.

  2. I dumped uhd movie on it around 50gb in size. Plex has a problem playing it with the same message something about my connection is to slow when VLC play that file just fine.

  3. Shield is not transcoding and set to play original quality.

I know it’s not Nvidia shield issues since VLC is able to play the same file no problem. It’s something with Plex version that is installed in shield. The way I see it shield is basically a computer if VLC is able to play it and Plex is not then it’s a problem with Plex.

Is there anything I can do or Plex has some kind of bottle neck

The connection to slow message has been plaguing Plex on the Shield for a long long time. Oh and it will will happily do it with a 2Mbps file just as much as an 80Mbps UHD Remux file… it’s also very intermittent.
