Especially if you create an avenue for them to do so.

Reading on Discourse’s forums, the default number of votes per person is 10. So apparently even they think 5 is too few for general purposes.
You have convinced me. LOL!!!
Wow – add about 2 more of the 24/7 constant complaining users and we’ll start to have something nice around here.
Personally I don’t see why each person shouldn’t have an unlimited number of votes. What is the downside? Havning to use the fingers on more than two hands to count the votes for some suggestion? The wheat will still rise above the chaff but it allows ideas that come in NOW to gain attention and traction and rise to the top without hundreds of people having to decide what to no longer vote for instead.

5 votes are not enough.
NEED MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE VOTES!
If the folks developing plex aren’t responding to our feedback or implementing the features we vote for I don’t know why we are participating. 5 votes isn’t enough for a system that is basically a periphera lfeature popularity contest. If you want ideas for your backlogs give us more votes.
Good point. Unless they actually CARE about the votes, why care how many votes we cast?
too much logic, need moar votes.
How many votes do we get? I appear to only have three votes. I’m not able to place a fourth vote.
Agreed that 3 or 5 votes is not enough.
If I had a infinite number of votes, I’m not going to spend time tossing votes all over the place.
Giving each of us such a very limited number of votes prevents a true picture of what features are the most wanted.
With only 3 or 5 votes to casts, I’ve already found myself having to go back and remove one vote from something I wanted to see implemented, after finding another that wanted to see implemented…
Why bother reading through all of these suggestions, and moving my vote from one to another… as I find features that I’d like to see? If Feature Request “A” had all of us voting for it… and it gets the proper attention… and then Feature Request “B” comes along, and we all say… hey “B” is great but we don’t have any more votes… and we all remove our ‘votes’ from “A” to vote for “B”… does PlexInc which working on “A”… and start working on “B”?
I’m certain that I’m ignorant of how the voting is designed to work, so if there is a FAQ that explains it, please point me to it. (I did a search on the word “Vote” and couldn’t find anything)
Three for non-Plex Pass users, 5 for Plex Pass users.
High vote counts don’t guarantee that Plex will implement the feature. It’s only a gauge of interest.
If they implement a feature, in theory they will close the Feature Request thread, which automatically returns your vote to you, to be used elsewhere (I say “in theory” because this hasn’t happened with any of my votes yet). The trouble with this is, Plex doesn’t notify us of a new feature until they roll it out. So if your vote is sitting on a request that they spend a year implementing, your vote is essentially useless for an entire year. You don’t want to pull the vote because you want them to implement the feature, but once they’ve decided to implement the feature, there’s no reason to leave your vote stuck there. But you don’t know that.
All of these points make the limited number of votes extremely counter-unproductive, but that doesn’t seem to bother Plex.
I am noticing that it doesn’t say “Plex Pass” next to my name (I’m a new lifetime Plex Pass user), so that would explain why I only have 3 votes.
If anyone for PlexInc is reading this, can you fix my account to reflect my Plex Pass status?

I also find that when the PlexTeam knows (for whatever reason) something wont give implemented they just let the request sit there. Never closing out the request and releasing votes. Not to say that every request couldn’t be done, just that some are 99% more likely not gonna happen. At a percentage like that I’d close the request but that’s me, I guess they don’t want the backlash…
If that’s happening, I would definitely call them on it, because that is what they said they would do. If they aren’t doing it, then they are completely sabotaging the voting system.
Can you list some Feature Suggestion threads where this has happened?

lol ! That’s the thing… We’ll never know.

Oh. The following sounded like you had experienced it.
