So there may be more than one deadlock bug. Will have to get diagnostics for 1.8.0 and refer it to the development team
Could you please see this post for details

I’m experiencing the same problem I get a 503 error. When I look at the process loads during the crash it usually happening when the server is doing a lot of transcoding so is this DASH protocol transcoding fix likely going to fix my issue? I’ll try and get the dump etc if it doesn’tThe logs covering period before the deadlock starts and up to the time it is deadlocked together with the crash dump would help confirm if it is
So i got the crash again, here is a link to the connections file, logs and dump
https://1drv.ms/f/s!AP5jOeQ1U0Oncg
Thanks
Thanks - debug logging was switched off on the server ! Also I could not find the
/connectionsfileAside from that, the dump shows some DASH transcoding activity and I suggest we wait for the fix for the deadlock for dash transcode threads and see if we still have a problem to investigate after that. The fix for the dash related deadlocks is expected in the next release
Ah looks like my upload stopped. I’ll enable debug logging and send it all again when it occurs again, it happens every couple days. Do you have a timeline on the next release?

It is out already - see this post a couple of posts above yours

So see if the problem is still there in 1.8.0. One cause of deadlocks has been addressed. And if it remains an issue please provide the diagnostics from 1.8.0
Thanks for the update! had 3 simultaneous transcodes and hasn’t crashed all day, was getting 3-6 crashes a day over the weekend when my friend would transcode with her samsung TV.

That is good news - so the deadlock fix has made an impact. But there may be another bug still

I got another 503 deadlock issue. Don’t know if you guys have enough information to resolve the issue or my logs will provide additional info? I saved the logs, I triggered the crash upload, and also saved the output from http://localhost:32400/connections?X-Plex-Token=XXXXX . Running 1.7.6 on Ubuntu 16.04.Need logs to help try and find the crash dump - hopefully it got uploaded ok. It is not a direct route. I cannot find any servers owned to your forum account -

Sorry forgot that I’m running my server under another username: phoenixadmin
And I’ve attached the out from the /connections page.
Thank you - which of the 3 active servers on that account was it?
Crash occurred around 7/30/17 5:40pm CST.
I suspect the deadlock that I had was due to Sync transcoding.

Maybe it never got uploaded. Here is the logs after I triggered the dump. I think the deadlock that I had was due to transcoding.

you cannot upload to the forums through the e-mail interface. I am guessing that is why there are no attachments
There is a fix in 1.8.0 for a DASH Transcoding deadlock - that was issued earlier today for Plex Pass. No fix yet for the public release.

The logs do show DASH Transcode jobs running
Hopefully this will be fixed for you when the Plex Pass release 1.8.0 or later release go public
I get this on occasion on the windows version. I have not seen any resolution so here is my workaround. I have yet to test it as I have to wait for it to happen again.
Basically, setup a schedule task to run this powershell however frequently you want.
If((invoke-webrequest http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html -DisableKeepAlive -UseBasicParsing -Method head | select StatusCode).StatusCode -eq “200”)
{
write-host “Plex is Running”
}
ElseIf((invoke-webrequest http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html -DisableKeepAlive -UseBasicParsing -Method head | select StatusCode).StatusCode -eq “503”)
{
write-host “Plex is Not Running”
Stop-Process -processname Plex*
Start-Sleep -s 15
Start-Process -FilePath “C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Media Server.exe”
Start-Sleep -s 30
}

Please try version 1.8.0 which has a fix for this. If you continue to get this after the update to 1.8.0 please try to get the diagnostics outlined in this post and earlier posts https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1475240/#Comment_1475240

So far since the update I haven’t experienced any deadlocks and crashes. I’ll report back if I see the problem again…
I have the latest Plex Pass server version and am still experiencing the 503 error on heavy transcoding - seems to be mainly when sync jobs are running along with multiple streams.
I’ll take a look at grabbing logs and such tomorrow.

Whilst one cause of the deadlocks and error 503’s was addressed and fixed in version 1.8.0.4109, there is still another bug that we need to find with similar end result. I have a new forum topic for it - here https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/282840/error-503-returned-on-version-1-8-0-and-1-8-1
It is not just logs, I need to get a process dump and also output from a specific url
Please see my post here https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1492135/#Comment_1492135
Plex Pass release 1.9.0 has a fix for another deadlock issue
See Release Note http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1514691/#Comment_1514691
- (Transcoder) Potential deadlock with static and streaming transcodes (#7410)
Initial feedback here indicates that this specific issue has been fixed
I’m also having the same issues. Logs attached. I repaired my database yesterday but that didn’t seem to help.

Yes same issue. Process Dumps are needed to investigate deadlocks with the logs. I have already got good dumps from @br3nn88 and @Gabrielasse - so there is no need for any more. These with the logs and connections info have been referred to the development team
