As of updating to 7.28 on my phone, I have encountered 2 new playback problems with music.
–Issue #1
If playback is started, then put on pause, playback does not automatically resume upon connection to a bluetooth device (in this case, my car audio).
My car audio system shows that playback has resumed, but plays no audio. The Plex app shows that playback is still paused and does not resume until I manually push the Play button.
Prior to the update, playback would properly automatically resume upon connection to the bluetooth audio system.
–Issue #2
After finishing listening to music, swiping away Plex from my notification pane used to prevent the app from using any more battery power.
After updating to 7.28, the app continues to use battery even after swiping away the playback controls from the notification pane. I need to actually go and close the app to keep it from using anymore battery of my device.
For example, playback began at about 8:00am, stopped at about 9:00am.
I swiped away playback controls around 9:05am, battery usage for the app showed 271 mAh (7% of my device’s battery).
I left it as-is and then checked once more at 10:05am which showed usage at 461 mAh / 12%.
This also was not an issue with 7.27.
I have logs and can provide them if you can give me an email address to send them to. (I would rather not post them publicly)
Another user posted in a thread that they had the same issue as the one I described above as #1.
Staff responded in that thread but was only able to recreate the issue on one device and noted that this was not resolved in 7.29 as they had yet to properly identify the bug. The user reported that the issue was resolved after their device updated to Android 10, and the issue was marked as solved.
My device is on Android 8 and I have just recently learned is not getting an update to Android 9.
I definitely did not have these issues on 7.27 version of Plex, so I am hoping this can be resolved.
As I mentioned before, I am able to provide logs, just need to know where to send them.
I am now using Plex 8.0.0.17276 on a Samsung Galaxy S10e with Android 10 / ONE UI 2.1, and still having issue #1.
The battery issue (#2) has been fixed as of the upgrade to 8.0.
I have sent logs to @marekszulik, hoping there will be some news on this issue soon (seeing more threads around with the same issue).
