Server Version 1.18.5.2309
Android Beta Version 7.28.0.15265
Not sure if anyone else has had a similar issue, but with the last two Beta’s I have a functionality issue with the Bluetooth resume.
What I mean is, if I pause the track (podcast, or audiobook) using the Bluetooth device pause function (not my phone screen) it will pause but not resume (or restart) with the same press on the Bluetooth device. This happens on my Mi AirDots, my Insma Bluetooth Airbuds and with Bluetooth connection on the stereo in my 2017 Tucson. Just started happening. I have to restart with my phone play button on the lock-screen or the pull down notification player (or of course the actual player screen).
I thought it was possible it was the PMS version I was running ( Version# 1.17.0.1841) but I updated last night and it’s still an issue.
Thanks for the report. Strangely, I can’t reproduce the issue using the Bose QC 35, but I am able to reproduce on Haylou GT1. We’ll investigate the issue.
I am having the same issues with public (not beta) version 7.28.0.15501 as detailed in the thread linked below.
Same problem of not being able to resume after pausing, but also upon connection to a bluetooth device, Plex will not auto resume music playback. I need to manually hit play on my phone.
@newplexuser59842 It seems to have started with the 7.28xxx build. As a beta tester I was hoping to see this fixed on the latest version (posted yesterday) but to no avail.
Unfortunately I was only able to reproduce it once, which made debugging very difficult. We don’t have a fix yet as we’re not sure where the problem lies. If the issue is resolved, the release notes should mention the fix, but we don’t have a specific target version yet.
Not sure what may have fixed it (the latest beta version or the fact I just got updated to Android 10) but now I can resume with both pairs of wireless pods and my car
I can confirm I definitely did not have these problems on 7.27.
My phone is still on Android 8 with a “TBD” for Android 9 release, so unfortunately updating to 10 will not be a viable solution for me.
@marekszulik In addition to this playback/resume bug, were you able to reproduce the continued battery usage that I detailed in the thread I linked above?
@marekszulik I am unsure if it was noticed in my other thread about this, but I am able to provide logs for this issue, if needed, and if you can provide an email address to send them to.
This issue is not resolved for me and updating to Android 10 is unfortunately not a solution. Thank you.
Are you still having the issue with the latest beta? I can’t reproduce it any more, it seems like a very intermittent issue. You can send me logs over in a private message.
There was an issue with the Android ExoPlayer, that affected a lot of different Apps…
In the Plex APP under setting there is an option to use the New Player, disabling it so you use the old player helped some… If you update the Android OS that should bring in the latest fixes… That does not help with Plex…
The Plex APP has to approved by Amazon (for Amazon devices) before its released for downloading through Amazon…
Plex Pass user can sideload the beta if they wish, It’s for testing it may have unknown bugs…
Thank you for the clarification. I appreciate the help, but I don’t think it will do me any good.
I get my app from Google Play, not Amazon, and I don’t have a Plex Pass.
I have been unable to find the New Player option in the app.
I am unable to update my Android version as it is not available for my phone.
I am using the latest public build on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 (Android 9) and the resume has not worked for a while when using my Jabra 65t buds. Resuming for other apps (podcasts, etc. is fine). Has a fix been identified?
I sent logs to @marekszulik.
However, I am having the same issues with 7.31.0.16802, latest public, even on a new/different device (Samsung Galaxy S10e (Android 10, One UI 2.0).
Pause/resume does not work 90% of the time with my car audio bluetooth system or my Samsung Galaxy Buds.
