Experiencing green bars on a Roku Express for channels broadcasting in 720p. Other Roku devices seem to be running fine. Restarting the device appears to solve. Just thought someone should know?
What playback looks like on the server side. Happy to help troubleshoot, but it’s not a high priority for me as it only happens on one out of four of my Rokus. A minor annoyance at best.
Looks like this issue occurs in any channels that are not broadcast in 1080.
Disabling “Allow MPEG2” in Settings under Video may have solved the issue for me. Will report back results upon further testing.

Same issue as OP. I’m seeing this on the Roku Streaming Stick (3800x). I have 2 of these Roku sticks and I’ve confirmed the same issue occurs with both. Not seeing this issue on any of my newer Roku sticks (4k) or Roku Ultras.
As with the OP the problem is resolved by disabling “Allow MPEG2” on the player. However this requires the stream to be transcoded versus Direct Stream.
From testing I’ve found after a Roku reboot the issue only occurs if a higher resolution channel is played prior to playing the 480p or 720p channel. So if I play the 480p/720p channel immediately after a reboot I get proper video direct streamed). But once a higher resolution (1080p) channel is played then the problem with green bars as shown by OP occurs when I try to play a 480p/720p channel - until another reboot. So it seems the player and Roku CAN play the 480p/720p content correct but something goes amiss once it scales up to play 1080p content.
In my case I’ve repeated the problem on two TV’s (one 1080p, one 720p) with two Roku Streaming Sticks (3800x). I’ve also reproduced the problem with the 3800x stick on a 4K TV.
Obviously an edge case problem - but after extensive searching online and in these forums this thread is all I’ve seen mentioned of it so I wanted to chime in with “yep, same here”.
Happy to help test/troubleshoot solutions if any suggestions (I’ve run out of ideas).

Yep, disabling “Allow MPEG2” on the player does resolve the green bars issue. However the video is then transcoding instead of Direct Streaming (since the Homerun is feeding the channels as MPEG2 in a ‘ts’ container). My preference would be to Direct Stream if possible but certainly not a major issue as my server can handle the transcoding fine.
As I noted it’s interesting that in my case the green bars don’t appear if the 480p/720p channel is played immediately following a reboot of the Roku. In that case it can Direct Stream those channels without the green bars. But once a 1080p channel is played then the green bars persist for any 480p/720p channels until the next reboot.
Interesting, edge case, low priority issue for sure.
I’ll test this in a bit to confirm. I could always get it to work but didn’t nail down the precise reason.
