The task of ripping a DVD library is a massive one. If all one cares about is the movie, the primary video content alone, then it’s rather simple to just rip movies to files, and be done with it. But, if you care about extra content, interviews, specials, and whatnot, the task becomes much more massive to extract every component to separate video ,and properly label them all. And then navigate it all.
For those that care about the extras, or completists, the simple solution is rip to iso. All the content, one file, complete with a navigateable menu to access the content.
Not to mention, sometimes the menus of a DVD in itself shows some creativity. Hearing the members of Spinal Tap rambling on about the size of the logo before starting the movie gives me a nice chuckle. Or the dialog between Harold and Kumar about needing to make a choice on the menu is rather amusing. No iso support means these disappear.
Certainly it is something that could be done. If kodi can manage to support iso, certainly you should be able to make that happen.
So, what gives? Why do you insist on this rather stubborn stance of a huge limitation to your product? It is quite baffling. For many of us, this stubborn decision of yours makes plex something we won’t even consider, as it’s useless to those of us that have an actual archive of our content, not a cheap dumping ground of the main features of our libraries.
