A couple of improvements to Plex Desktop

I’ve been using Plex.desktop for Linux a little more lately and I noticed a few things that could be improved.

First, when full-screened (hit “F”) it’s great that it does this. Hitting “F” again goes out of full-screen mode. But if the episode/movie you are playing finishes then “F” no longer works. I can play something and then hit “F” and I can get out of full-screen mode but it should work after a video is played too.

Esc should be an alias to “F”.

When selecting subtitles the player should just go back to playing and collapse the Playback settings and play bar at the bottom. On the Vizio Smart TV app, after selecting the subtitle it goes back to just playing the media. On Plex desktop the Playback settings remain until you close them.

You mention plex.desktop but tagged this post with plex-htpc. Which app are you using?

In the flatpak world, this is run:

flatpak run tv.plex.PlexDesktop

While we’re at it, F11 should maximize and unmaximize the window.
