A media section for e-books?

https://github.com/coryo/ComicReader.bundle is a channel than allow to read cbr, cbz, CB7 formats (zip, rar, 7zip archived renamed). While not the full package, it’s worth knowing

Plex team please consider this the next frontier of media-types for Plex to tackle.

Would be great to have something working like google books, where read/state current page syncs through devices.

EDIT: Actually, that would need apps for eink readers to , reading on a mobile phone blergh

I agree that media should include the written word and pictures, as well. To have Plex serve documents (like ebooks, pdfs, etc) as well would be awesome.

On the other hand, I don’t want Plex to go into the direction of iTunes, where one program tries to do everything. But then there are not many alternatives for an ebook client/server. There’s calibre, but that one is web based, not very sexy and has no native app to sync to clients.

I use Calibre on the same server as Plex and when I download a book it gets either imported directly into iBooks or Kindle app for reading. Need to setup the conversion and allow the correct format eBook to be downloaded to trigger the import.

@horse I know this may not be the best place to discuss this; but how did you set that up? do you have a link to the process or some documentation?
