Thanks Camelus, great app!
Two things I'd like to see, On Deck support and a bit more retina friendly interface (video player is fine). The Graphical Tools package from Apple will help you test in HiDPI mode. Other than that I'm very pleased I don't have to continue working on my own Plex client for OS X. If you do add On Deck support my wish is that it is quickly accessible.
beta expired any updates ?
beta expired any updates ?
Sorry about that, waiting on Apple to approve it right now. It should be in the App store soon.
In the mean time I've just uploaded a new beta that bumps up the expire date for 30 days.
I'm juggling a few versions at the moment this 1.0RC, 1.0 final for the app store and working on 1.1 adding new features. Lost track of when this one expired!
Hello,
I just tried the app ( cant believe I missed it ) and it looks awesome, especially when in menu item mode. Only problem ( besides reliability issues with Remote Server ) is complete lack of simple and/or Thumbnail List View (something like Plex/Web which has both).
I'm so glad you're doing this. The only bug I've noticed so far is that my synopses suddenly stopped appearing in the info window while the other 2 of the 3 panes still load the other file details and data. I'd love to be able to change the section icons from the stock ones. Keep us posted on how it's going.
Just found out about your app, and I wanted to give it a shot today. Unfortunately, I'm getting that "beta expired" message.
Any update on your App Store submission?

Hi,

I have been working on other things as I am at a bit of an impasse with the Apple approval process, just uploaded the latest version.
Thank you for the upload grateful for this.
I have logged in but it is not picking up my library shows the connection in the bottom right side but doesn't load the libraries.
It picks up my friends library which is shared with me but it then loses this after a few minutes as well.
Any idea how to fix, i tried to quit the app and reload, also tried to reinstall, i'm running 10.9.5 OSX.
Ok i have removed all the preference files when uninstalling and then restarted and then installed again and now it seems to keep the shared library and when i quit and reload the app takes about 5-10 mins to pick up the library again.
But still doesn't appear to show my library, am i missing something, please advise, can i sync bits from my library or download as well ?
I thought this app was meant to have sync option with it, but doesn't seem to be there.
Please can you advise if your able to do this as i like the layout of this app and would even pay for it if it had this feature as, pled don't seem to bothered about creating their own app.
Nice!
This is much better than the Home Theatre app on Mac - I hate the full screen and no mouse control.
The only thing your app is missing is SYNC! This is the main reason I use plex so it automatically syncs for offline viewing, and I would love to be able to sync it to my Macbook Pro without having to spend ages to upload it to the cloud when it should just be able to sync over WiFi like on my iPhone!
This is wonderful at work, thank you!
Is there some reason why mouse can not be used to open TV shows, Photo folders, or Music lists of Albums/Tracks ?
Best regards: dlanor
Thanks - this is a fantastic app (and is almost there).
I look forward to seeing it in the AppStore when you get things finished. It's a brilliant and more practical alternative to using the Plex Home Theater when watching videos on a laptop. Usually I'm doing other things when watching videos (developing, web surfing, pretending to work etc) so I don't want Home Theater's fullscreen playback. The resizable video window is almost perfect.
The things which would seal it for me, and which would make me very happy to part with a few $$$ for the privilege to use this app would be:
- Float on Top option for the video window.
- Ability to resize the window even smaller (I could only get it down to slightly less that one-quarter of my 13-inch MBP screen, although this may have been dependent on the video). This would leave me with sufficient screen real-estate to do other things while still able to watch videos.
For the moment I'm getting by watching videos on my laptop with VLC Player. Unfortunately VLC needs to access the videos directly from shared network drive containing my media server content, rather than via the Plex server (as VLC's DLNA/uPnP support is also flakey). Obviously this means no Plex features are available. Doing everything through Plex (and PlexMini installed on laptops) would be my preferred option - especially when it comes to other family members and guests connected to my home network.
Good luck getting the production version ready for release.
Cheers
Hey this is very cool, thank you very much for sharing!
Greetings,
I'd also like to express my appreciation for this app. One issue that just popped up is that I'm informed that the beta has expired and a link is provided to install the latest version (RC2). However, even after I do that I get the same message. Does anybody know how to resolve this?
