A true non antenna TV lineup question for the Plex Gurus here

Server Version#: Latest builds

Channel number/Name:

I love Plex

I also hate paying fees to fios for 6 set top boxes and 2 cable cards

I mainly watch

CBS ny
NBC NY
ABC NY
CNN
MSNBC
FOX
ME tv
The weather channel

Excuse my ignorance but does Plex offer a PAID non antenna means of getting these channels and to DVR them?

I do not think they do but if they did boy would that be the ultimate !

Thanks!

No, they don’t.

Do you think one day they will or if it might be in their long range vision?

The general goal is to extend the lineup of the channels on offer.
But unfortunately I can’t tell you anything beyond that.

Thank you Otto; I will try YouTube ($64.95) to save the $185 a month I pay for Fios. Hopefully 1 day Plex will be their competition

Just hope YOU Tube TV streaming is still available on ROKU as I heard there are issues between them and Google

The only thing I will miss is the cablecards which allowed me to save cbs, nbc etc no DRM on my pc then add them to my plex library

You might also check out SlingTV and Hulu LiveTV. Both are services like YouTubeTV and may provide additional or different functions (like Hulu\Disney\ESPN package deals for Hulu or SlingTVs lower price or better Roku support). You can do a channel comparison but most local channels are included in the services - it’s just some of the cable channels or sports coverages that usually differ a lot (at least last time I checked).

Since you have an Hauppague tuner you might be able to use that and Plex can be your DVR for your over the air antenna for the local channels. Live TV & DVR (Set Up and Manage) | Plex Support

Doesn’t have The Weather Channel but Locast has the rest. $5 monthly donation and locast2plex.
