I’ve just seen the PLEX live TV and DVR feature for the 1st time. Can anyone explain to me what governs what channels are available in my area?
I’ve done the Channel look up and it lists Sky UK and Freesat in my area. So does that mean that all of the channels they offer will be available to me?
I am unsure about your area but in my area the US, any non DRM channel that the HDHR can tune into plex can also pickup.
You can use over the air antenna or I use a cable card in my HDHR so a subscription service. I am unsure about satellite providers as I use cable myself.
If a channel has DRM such as HBO in the US does plex will NOT be able to record from that.
To be clear, Plex does not provide any channels. The channels you get are whatever your TV tuner and antenna can pick up. Or if you have a tuner with cable card support, whatever channels your cable provider offers that are not DRM protected.
