aac_latm

I have a number of files that I've recorded using my Humax HDR-FOX T2 from UK Freeview. They have aac latm audio. When I play them under RC4, I get a message saying that aac_latm is an unknown audio type and it tries to transcode. The file then does not play and it simply stays on the menu.

I'm pretty sure these files used to play in RC3. Would it be the transcoding profile that's causing this? If so, please can someone add aac_latm so it plays without transcode?

can you copy paste the xml info of such a media ?

You can find this info in the media details on PMS/Web

I can't seem to view the XML on my phone but here is the text version:

You can get the XML and the details of the media from Plex/web .. get into the movie and find the show details icon.

This should display a window on which you can find either textual description or a xml link.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Any news on this? I can play these files now but ff/rw and resume don't work in Rasplex due to the transcoding. I'm pretty sure these files can be played natively by the Pi.

Fix for ff/rw transcoded media in next release.

Thanks. But I would really like to play AAC LATM files without transcoding. I could do this on Raspbmc years ago so I know the Pi can handle it. Do I just need to modify the Pi transcoding profile?

Any chance you can provide a short clip of an affected file?

Thanks Ned.

THANK YOU!!  :D

All working well in 0.7.0, thanks again guys.

I have found that in 0.7.1 these files still play but the sound is out of sync with the audio. When you initiate playback, the screen is black for a moment, with a horizontal line, and then when the video starts the sound is out of sync. I have changed every setting I could find relating to audio sync and nothing has fixed it. MP4 files are fine, it’s just the TS files with the AAC_LATM audio that have the problem.
