Ability to sort forum threads/topics to show most recent posts at the top

Sorry if this has been asked before, or if the option is available staring me in the face, but I couldn’t find anything about it…

Is it possible to sort forum threads/topics to show the most recent posts at the top? I think this is a fairly standard feature in other forums.

Many of the threads are VERY long, and it is a pain to have to scroll to the bottom if you are tracking a thread and have to return to the topic over several days, each time having to again scroll to the bottom. It is especially cumbersome with the “infinite” scroll feature used in these forums. Perhaps another option would be to add a “pagination” feature, then maybe we could more easily go to the “last page”.

As far as I know, Discourse forum software does not have a feature to change the order of messages in a thread. However, the slider has features you may not know about. I have a lot of gripes about Discourse, but this thing is pretty cool.

Referring to the image below, if you click on ‘Jun 28’ at the bottom of the slider, it jumps to the end of the thread. The date at the top takes you to the beginning of the thread. You can also grab the slider and drag it up/down.

Thanks for replying… I knew you could drag the slider, but I didn’t know you could click the date/time at the bottom of it. I’ll give that a try!

Still seems like an obvious sort option that should be available in the settings though… :slightly_smiling_face:
