I really like the camera sync feature. I would also like the ability to upload home videos recorded with my iphone into my plex server.
RIght now I have to:
1) Upload videos to OneDrive.
2) Download videos from OneDrive to the computer.
3) Upload them to my plex server.
Well when I write it out like that it doesn't sound so bad.. but trust me its terrible.
Hmm yeah this seem like it would be a useful feature.
i agree, it's really nice to have a backup of the photos i take, but i've noticed that i'm taking more and more video these days. It would be nice to have those backed up as well.
Not sure what platform you're using, but my BB automatically uploads videos and photos to (in my case) Box. From there I just mount the Box folder and create a copy of what's there out to a folder that Plex scans. Its pretty easy to do the second part if your phone doesn't automatically upload. I can write up some better instructions for the second half if needed until the feature is integrated.
With recent developments from Apple, and now that I think about it more, I'd rather plex not waste any time on this feature. Once they get iCloud Drive up and going I can map that as one of my library folders and Apple will handle the video & photo syncing.
Definitely want this feature, I would like full fidelity copies of videos taken on phones available on my local server. Cloud services are nice but I want an on-premises copy.
This is particularly important for family members who never plug in their devices and for whom I don't want to pay for more cloud capacity.
