AC3, E-AC3 and DTS not supported on Pixel 7 Pro

Server Version#: 1.29.1.6316
Player Version#: 9.9.0.35519
None of these codecs will decode, they are shown as unsupported in Plex.
I thought they were baked into Android? Does this flagship phone really not have basic audio decoding capabilities?

PMS: 1.29.1.6316
Android Mobile: 9.10.1.36037 (beta)

FWIW, I’ve a Pixel 6a / Android 13.

AC3 & DTS direct play. EAC3 transcodes.

My previous phone, a Pixel 3a XL, had the same behavior.

Plex app settings:

Settings -> Advanced
  Audio -> Audio Boost = None
  Player
    Audio Passthrough = Disabled
    Optional Audio Support = None

Edit: Passthrough = HDMI made no difference.

I installed what was supposedly a purely security update and rebooted, and now the option for DTS appeared. It definitely seems to be a software glitch, especially as DTS implementation costs money and AC3 costs nothing these days.

Edit: 1 hour later… AC3 is now supported. No updates, no reboot. I’m taking bets on how long it takes for E-AC3 to start working.

Edit: at some point, some weeks later, E-AC3 became available. Maybe firmware update?
