New to Plex and was hoping there was a way to access my Plex server on my wired home network that I also have my network receiver on ? Without having to go through my Plex App on my TV and using the TV’s audio optical output to my receiver. I have a Denon 4520CI receiver and use a AVR app on my Android.
Any help/guidance is much appreciated.
Just enable the DLNA server feature in your Plex settings. It will then show up as a Media Server in your Denon AVR. Works great on mine.
Thanks , I’ll give that a look when I get back home and can access my server, still working out the bugs to access it from anywhere (Believe its a router setting) just curious, do you access your server through your receiver via a phone app like I’m trying to do with my “AVR” App , or another way ?
Honestly never tried the Denon AVR app, but you’ve piqued my curiosity. I have an older AVR-1913 in the den and an AVR-930S in the basement. I was using the Asset UPnP DLNA software prior to Plex to listen to music from my server on the Denons. Once I went to Plex it was redundant to run them both, so I began using just the Plex DLNA server. For the most part I just listen to music at home via the Plex app on my Nvidia Shield.
