This may have been asked before so I apologize if I couldn’t find it in advance.
Where it shows the filename on the top left, have it link to the media information so we can quickly go rate, delete, or whatever. The default action has been to stop playing then go back home, find the file, etc. Very tedious (unless I’m missing something). If you had selected a file manually it would go back to (the last page you were on) the media info page but if you’re on, say shuffle, you generally wouldn’t have any idea where to file came from or how to find it without filtering recently viewed… just so many steps.
I currently use the chrome player for plex, though I’ve been using the windows 10 app too since I got plex pass. Loving both. Thanks in advance.
That works but you’d still need to refresh the page to update the ‘date viewed’ filter wouldn’t you? (which is the same as my workaround stated above). This wouldn’t be problematic if you didn’t have pin protection, but refreshing requires me to enter it several times and eh…
Edit: though, if you have protection it might require you to enter the pin on another window as well. Which is why perhaps the option to rate a file or add it to a playlist directly from the overlay hub might be useful, though it might overly complicate the player.
I have about 3TB of video and 1TB of music, which isn’t that big. However, remembering what each file and where it comes from becomes problematic. If I decide I hate (or love) an episode I usually rate or delete it. This is fine when I’m selecting the media to play beforehand but every so often I press ‘shuffle all’ and finding the file afterwards is annoying sometimes.
Early 2021 clean-up: implemented (items playing now contain a link to the details page in the on-screen display)
e.g. → clicking on “My Neighbor Totoro” will bring up the movie pre-play/details page
