Account Hacked

My account has been hacked, doesn’t seem to be a way to contact anyone at Plex, so I’m posting here. The email address and password on my account has been changed, I’m able to still login to my account from a browser that was still logged in. I need someone at plex to fix, what address can I email to report this and have this fixed?

If your email address is still the same you could easily recover from that so I’m assuming the email address and password have been changed together. Isn’t that like “I lost my account”? And if so couldn’t you just sign up for a new one? If you had a credit card associated with your account you could close that and use a new one (a pain I know - see below).

If you run a PMS then you’ll need to reclaim your server.

As for having to cancel and report your CC stolen, I’d suggest using Privacy.com. Much like a password manager, Privacy.com allows you to generate unique virtual credit cards based on site. They are tied into a funding source on the back end like your checking account. The pros of using Privacy.com is that each virtual credit card is only useable at the site where it was issued. Additionally, you can set limits like only $x per charge or $y per month, or even a one-time charge. And you can cancel the card at any time like if you’ve been hacked or you just want to cancel your account. Plus, since it’s a virtual card, you don’t need to report it lost/stolen and then have to go around to the 20-50 sites where you’ve used that physical card.

It’s also great for those services who give you say a 30-day trial, you can cancel at any time and then they want you to forget about that and they start charging you monthly for the subscription you forgot to cancel. Just sign up, generate a virtual credit card and then immediately close the virtual credit card. They won’t be extorting you on a subscription you meant to cancel but forgot.

The service is free unless you generate like 20 virtual credit cards a month.
