I am a newbee looking at getting a Plex Pass. I have a Netgear Server set up but wouldlike to know if when I make an account for my family, give them a log in can they watch a movie outside of the network in the house, ie by moble phone over the normal mobile data? If so what are the maximum mebers if I get a lifetime pass?
You can create a “Plex Home” which is intended for people actually living with you, e.g. because they’ll have the option to fast-switch users. A Plex Home can have up to 15 users, including the admin.
If you can do it (have you tested this?), they can do it as well.
You just need to keep in mind that remote access can sometimes be restricted by the available upstream bandwidth of your internet connection.
And this in turn may require transcoding on the server more often.
I am not sure whether your Plex server could handle that, particularly when several users are trying to stream at once.
