Add a Friend - Failed to send invite

Hello,

When trying to invite a friend to share my Plex libraries I receive an error that simply states “Failed to send invite.” However, I’m able to successfully send invites to other email addresses; the issue appears to be isolated to this friend.

Any support with the issue is greatly appreciated.

Version 1.20.3.3483

Do you experience the same issue after upgrading your server to the current public release?
If this friend already has a Plex account they should be able to see your invite when accessing Plex Web – otherwise you could ask them to create an account to see the invite.

I have not yet tried upgrading my server to the current public release, there are legacy features I’ve still been utilizing.

The friend has created a Plex account but does not receive the invite, the error is preventing the invite from being sent. Unfortunately there does not appear to be anything logged locally when the error occurs.

I am able to send invites to other friends (I have created a test account and successfully sent an invite), the issue appears to be isolated to a specific friend.

Any luck? I’m having the same issue. Was using an out-of-date version. Updated. Same issue.

No real luck yet. I was able to send an invite to the friend by not sharing any libraries at the same time. I’m currently waiting for them to accept and then I’ll try sharing my libraries to see what happens.

I’ve updated the server to version 1.24.5.5173 but the issue persists.

@Stevenger you seem to have already hit the max number of shares which is 100

@sophware does your friend already have an account. does it have any special characters in email or username?

I got the same error tonight, and have another friend struggling with this. I am definitely WELL below the user limit, and I believe my friend is too. Any ideas on what to check? or what terms to search for amongst the logs? Any pointers welcome…
Much appreciated!
