AniDB.net is far superior than theTVDB when it comes to anime, sick of having to reformat all my anime titles to get Plex to recognize my shows
I recently added all my anime into PLEX and used TheTVDB for metadata. I’m not liking how certain series use the English dub titles and in some case series names. How did you add AniDB as an agent for PLEX?
There’s an AniDB metadata agent already. It works well, but you’ll run into API limits very quickly, even with a small library
I think this is still a valid suggestion. I’ve used Anime Series Scanner, HAMA, and AMSA quite a bit and they’ve all got shortcommings. I’d really love the ability to add anidb: #### to a .plexmatch file and have it all just work…
The licensing concern mentioned above by @flow is not relevant since it’s basically the same as tvdb and imdb. Of course they’d have to negotiate API access with the anidb admins.
Even if they didn’t add anidb directly, allowing metadata providers to “plug in” additional external IDs would be super spiffy. I’m sure sports users have the same request…
